we win!!!
Young folks are taking over the world!!! (Well, young folks and old folks who have a clue…)
I was sitting with Rainier and his lovely friends in a basement in Jersey drinking 3 dollar wine and I glanced up at the teevee, with Obama and Biden and their adorable families glowing, and a wonderfully speckled audience, full of all sorts of beautiful people, and I said something like: “Who would have thought 40 years ago that there would be all sorts of people running the country?” and then the camera panned out to a lesbian couple supporting Pres. O and I fucking beamed. Finally, our country is not going to be ruled by only one fifth of the population. I wonder if this will make me more or less comfortable to go to the Deli on the corner at 1 AM, or perhaps if this will make our ignorant species stop hurting our own kind…. you never know though, I suppose I can just hope for the best, and at least we’re going in the right direction.
I had a little mini vacation all weekend. Krystal and Alyson came up on Friday night (Halloween) and stayed until Sunday. K, A, Rainier, and I all went to Smack! and K, R, and I had a fucking fabulous time. Alyson wasn’t really feeling it, especially when she got squirted in the eye with fake cum.. but.. you know, whatcha gonna do? Saturday I showed Aly and K around Manhattan, the cooler spots, then to a funny little Chinese\Spanish restaurant (what a funny Brooklyn idea) and then to a Comedy Club where the last three comics made me piss my pants. They left on Sunday and I babysat and Rainier came over, and we have been hanging out for the past two days.
My boyfriend is totally better than yours. Duh…
His place was nice to hang out in, with the forest and the trees (did you know that leaves were changing colors? I had no clue cause I have no trees around me. I was astounded all morning at how fucking gorgeous the colors were). The two of us did nothing and everything, simultaneously. Jon Stewart and nachos, wine and massages with his friends, chats with the mother over really good eggs (from their chickens) after a night full of debauchery (in the bed) and millions of smirks and kisses. It was lovely, really. I see that aspect of my life being really amazing, and I’m so confident in it, it’s shocking.
Just took the 2 hour train ride home (and he visits me weekly, he’s a madman…) and smiled about our new president, my new love, and the life that I seem to be living, somehow. This 4-day old pork fried rice has never tasted better.
